- Drawing upon a network of research partners across the globe LJS conducts both qualitative and quantitative research in North, Central and South America, Europe and Asia. In addition to our network of research partners around the globe, LJS has a focus group facility in Shanghai.
- Whether studying diverse U.S. populations or conducting large-scale global research studies, LJS balances the need for standardized measures while recognizing and accommodating cultural and language differences.
- Our ongoing studies of Hispanic consumers indicate that shopping behavior and attitudes differ substantially depending on the level of acculturation. We distinguish four acculturation levels among U.S. Hispanics.
- Our ethnographic study of immigrants learning English in public schools encompassed students and parents with diverse native languages.
- We conduct an ongoing multimode study of specialty retailing in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, Spain, France, Japan, China and Australia. This study balances the need for standardized measures across countries with the necessity of adapting the survey to reflect differences in language and culture.
- We developed an innovative technique to explore the appeal and cultural significance of various advertising images and icons in Europe, Latin America and the U.S. as they relate to teenagers’ lifestyles, values and aspirations.
- LJS also regularly conducts surveys in the U.S., China, Canada and Mexico to monitor consumer behavior and attitudes.
